Jessica McGovern is a qualified and experienced journalist, editor and teacher with a passion for travel. Originally from the west of Ireland - and currently based in Montreal, Canada - she holds a Bachelors Degree in English and Theatre from the Queens University of Belfast (N.Ireland) and a Masters degree (MSc) in Journalism from Napier University, Scotland.
Jessica's previous professional experience includes national and regional newspapers, magazines, news agencies, books and internet publishing. Her travels have taken her to over thirty countries in five continents with longer stints working as an English teacher and editor in Ghana, China, Canada, France and Argentina.
Most recently, she has been working full-time in a busy University communications department, while writing and editing on a freelance basis. She has contributed to two travel guides; Brazil's Top 500 and Viva Travel Guide Argentina and has featured as a regular blog author for travel website ebookers.com. Previous published work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Scientific American Online, China Daily, Reuters.com, Reuters India and The Daily Telegraph (Australia).
